Glad you had a nice night.D10http://www.blogger.com/profile/16524755003794543639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8065396697330827869.post-38730585872958624932008-09-18T07:38:00.000-04:002008-09-18T07:38:00.000-04:00everyone - aww thanks! we did have fun!<BR/><BR/>littleengine- it was definitely a nice change to get together at someone's house and make dinner, as opposed to eating out... and way cheaper :D<BR/><BR/>chole - thanks for asking this question, as i think it is a very good one. i'm sorry you having such a difficult time letting go of calorie counting. as you describe in your comment, calorie counting is interfering with your life and happiness. at that point, it stops being a positive tool for weight loss or maintenance and starts to become a determinate to your well-being.<BR/><BR/>i think the first way to tackle this problem is to understand WHY you continue to calorie count so obsessively. are you at your goal weight and fear putting weight back on? do you calorie count instead of dealing with your own fearful attitudes towards food? or maybe you calorie count just to have control over SOMETHING in your life. <BR/><BR/>i think it's much easier to nip a beahvior in the bud if you understand the underlying cause. maybe you need to speak with a professional (therapist or nutritionist) to help you grasp the true reasons why you calorie count.<BR/><BR/>my second piece of advice is meal planning. perhaps you can "wean" yourself off calorie counting by planning your week's meals in advance on sunday. write everything down and calculate each meal if you want to. then, for the rest of your week, eat according to your plan and REFUSE to let yourself re-ccount... after all--you already did! if you reduce daily counting to weekly counting, you could at least gain control over each day and slowly stop weekly counts.<BR/><BR/>also, i want to point out that its NORMAL not to eat the same amount of calories a day. i shoot for 400 calories for breakfast, 200 calories for a mid-morning snack, 400 calories for lunch, two 200 calorie snacks mid-day, and a 400 calorie lunch. i just eyeball stuff and if i have a 450 calorie lunch--whatever. 50 extra calories won't make me gain weight. also, if i'm actually hungry outside of my "plan", well... i EAT! and this happens once every two days or so! it's natural for your hunger to fluctuate and its better to listen to your body cues that stick to a rigid plan.<BR/><BR/>on a side note, you'd have to eat 3500 extra calories to gain a single pound. if you're eating a balanced and healthy diet, it would be difficult to actually gain weight, even if you are eating more than you originally planned to in that day. so don't stress out over an extra apple! :)<BR/><BR/>i hope that helped! xoxo.Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08856782450518599452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8065396697330827869.post-1180098684468800672008-09-18T07:21:00.000-04:002008-09-18T07:21:00.000-04:00AMAZINGLY FUN!!!!!!! :0)VeggieGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00785142908687097216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8065396697330827869.post-16479139944549017552008-09-18T07:11:00.000-04:002008-09-18T07:11:00.000-04:00Love the picture!
